;D I like those too and have them other than the Edsel...would like one though! You are right some side panels had great art too! I bought some kits just because of the side art lol

Here are some unusual Plymouth kits I have in my collection. Nearly everything is supposed to be 1/32. But the sizes of the kits are not consistant.

Here are a few strange Dodge kits of various scales. Notice the '60 Palmer had a generic box with the end panel showing the actual contents. In this case a '60 Dodge Phoenix. It is part of the "compacts" series. I'm not sure on what planet that car is considered a compact.

Sorry about the condition on this one. These Lancers are some of my prized odd-ball Dodge kits.

Nice box art. These kits promised so much and delivered so little.

The Mini-Lindy's were supposed to be H-O scale. It is a little bigger than 1/64. This one has never been opened.

The unfortunate thing about this kit is that it is actually a '74 Barracuda with quad headlights.

This is the Otaki '74 Challenger in a strange re-issue. It is molded in Plum Crazy. Opening doors and steerable wheels.

These Chargers didn't really deserve the name in my humble opinion. They are obviously just Cordoba's with different trim. These will make you wonder why they bothered to tool up a kit. The illustration was very nice on the Lindberg version. The kit was better too. The proportions were closer to being accurate. Another un-opened kit. No need to wonder why.

lol the Charger comment, agreed! I don't even think the new ones deserve the name personally.
Nice collection you have. Many of those I have never seen, but never paid much attention to 1/32. I have however seen some pretty cool box art from that scale and I have been patiently waiting to find some. I have one box and that's it. I will have to scan it.

Here is the AMT '67 Chevy truck box. I bought this at a kit show yesterday. I thought you'd enjoy it. The renderings on the side panel were what caught my attention. The red custom is really well done. The blue stock version in the background set it off nicely.

I was at Gene Winfield's shop a month ago. I was showing him my box art renderings and he asked if I knew they made a model of his car. I had no clue. He dug around and found the box art that was done of his car. The AMT '40 Ford sedan delivery was made to look like his daily driver back then. It had the graphics and stripe that his sedan delivery had. It was nice to see the artwork was still in good condition. A lot of smudges around it but still vibrant. This is the photo I took of it.

Nice score on the chevy truck! I had that one with a built up junker , sold it..but I want to find another one.
I didn't know that art was based on Gene's driver? Way cool and the original art looks great!

this photo I found on the net awhile back, wish I had a nice scan of this kit.

I have yet to find these boxes, but I haven't been looking hard. I want to build the art work on this '32 5window.

Here are a few more odd ball kit boxes that I like. I had most of these as a kid. I remember when the Aurora Custom Chevy truck was at the local "five and dime" store. That's where I bought it. I remember seeing the Aurora trailer kit there and the box art showed a the '32 Skidoo on the trailer. It was hitched to the custom truck that was painted blue. This is a neat illustration and it made that dreadful custom truck look desirable.

This is a fabulous Jack Leynwood illustration. So typical of him. You can tell he also worked in the advertising field.

One of my favorite kits as a kid was the '52 wagon. Mine was molded in red. It seems that everyone I see now is molded in tan.

I love this yellow car with a red interior. They could do things like that back then. I did an illustration of a fifties car that was yellow with a red interior. All you could see were the visors, the dashboard and steering wheel. It sold the 50's look though.

Nice dramatic angle. The line drawing was a bit "off".

Nice! I have that Revell THunderbird artwork. Bob Paeth dug all that stuff out of the dumpster at Revell.....can ya believe all that stuff was thrown away? He saved a lot of odds and ends from the dump back then. He made very nice copies/prints for me.

Here is a nice large print Bob Paeth also sent me. He signed it, only proper since he was in on this kit and his name appears on the car in the art.

Hey Bob, I have 3 of these boxes but they are filled with the kit parts also. I did find an empty box on Ebay once and offered the guy $10 for it and he emailed me back and said he'd burn it before selling it that cheap. I asked him for his address so I could send him a match! ;D

Nice stuff Bob. Those are the color roughs or thumbnails. They are the quick "sketch" type of painting to show the art director what you have in mind. And to show the color pallet etc. Interesting artwork to have. The T-Bird changed from winter snow to the sunny beach.
